I need to fly a rescued dog from San Jose, CR to Detroit, Michigan USA. He is 15.5 pounds and is a schnauzer/poodle mix, 4 years old. My flight to Detroit is on Continental to Houston; Houston to Detroit, leaving April 29,2009. My concern is the change of planes and what happens to the dog. And, is it safe for a dog? I may change my plans and travel to Florida so the dog will only have to be crated for one flight..

Can you advise what is the best way to do this? And, what kind of cost are we talking about? I am on a fixed income, so i'm concerned about that too.

Thank you. Mary Desmond
